Confirmation Programme

THE PARISH OF EGHAM        –       CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME 2014

The Programme’s aim is to assist our young adults in the development and practice of their Faith, leading to their commitment in the Sacrament of Confirmation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Through a process of prayer, teaching, sharing and listening, both Candidates and Catechists will deepen and strengthen their understanding of Christ’s Message to His People and its relevance to us all in our everyday lives.

In order to be successful, the Programme needs the support and prayers of parents, wider families, Prayer Companions and our whole community in Christ in our Parish of Egham.

Subjects we will cover in our sessions include The Sacraments, The Liturgies of the Church, Community, Pastoral Care and Service, Prayer Life and the understanding of Scripture.

Sessions will make use of teaching, questioning, discussion, times of quiet and contemplation. There will be some “take away” for action between sessions but nothing which will demand time such as would interfere with school commitments.

Anything really worthwhile takes commitment and effort to achieve.  The journey to Confirmation may not always be easy but the reward is great.

Christ has no body now on earth but mine, no hands but mine, no feet but mine;

Mine are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look upon the world,

Mine are the feet with which He is to go about doing good, and mine are the hands

With which he is to bless us now.                                               Saint Teresa of Avila
